In the gorgeous winter wonderland of Southern Oregon two kinds of weather reign supreme: snow and crisp cool sunshine. Ski on groomed cross-country trails or take a guided snowshoe hike by day or moonlight. Ice skate at the Bill Collier Ice Arena, right at the entrance to The Ranch. Hit the slopes for snowcat skiing, or snowmobile for an extra thrill. Downhill skiers—head to Willamette Pass Ski Area, located in northern Klamath County. Take an unforgettable sled-dog ride through Klamath Country. Winter is also the season to witness the largest concentration of wintering bald eagles in the continental U.S. Up to 780 eagles winter in the Klamath Basin, with peak numbers usually seen in February.
